Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Rafael Hurtado Rosas, a sole proprietorship registered in Québec, Canada, doing business as Application Thymeblock (in Québec) and Thymeblock (elsewhere) ("ThymeBlock," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the ThymeBlock app or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ThymeBlock helps you collect recipes, plan meals, and generate grocery lists. Some features are free; others require a paid subscription (see section 4). We may change, add, or remove features over time.

2. Your account

You need an account to save content and use most features. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 14 years old. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Account; deletion is permanent (see the Privacy Policy for what is retained).

3. Your content and imported recipes

Recipes you write, import, photograph, or scan remain yours. You grant us the license needed to operate the Service: to store, process, display, and back up your content for you.

When you direct the Service to import a recipe from a link, the import is performed at your request, for your personal use, from content you chose. We do not claim ownership of third-party recipe content, and where a recipe was imported from a creator we attribute and link the source. You are responsible for having the right to use content you import. We may remove content that infringes others’ rights, and we respond to good-faith infringement notices sent to support@thymeblock.com.

4. Subscriptions, purchases, and ads

Paid tiers (such as Full Thyme and Prime Thyme) are sold through Apple’s App Store as auto-renewing subscriptions. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. We cannot issue refunds directly; refund requests go through Apple. Subscriptions are monthly; current tiers and prices are shown in the app before purchase.

The free tier includes optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch to unlock additional recipe imports; these are the only ads in the Service. Rewards are credited only after the ad network confirms the view. Paid tiers remove ads. Free allotments, ad-reward amounts, and fair-use limits may be adjusted over time.

5. Recipes and nutrition information

Recipes in the Service come from two sources. Recipes you add, import, or scan yourself are your responsibility, including their ingredients, quantities, and accuracy. Recipes in the shared catalog are reviewed and approved by us before they appear.

Nutrition figures for any recipe are estimates, computed by matching ingredients to public nutrition databases (such as USDA data). Estimates are approximations by nature and can differ from what is actually on your plate.

The Service is not medical, dietetic, or health advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance. Do not rely on it for medical decisions, allergy safety, or the management of any health condition. Always verify ingredients and consult a qualified professional where it matters.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service: no unauthorized access, scraping at scale, circumventing usage limits or ad-reward verification, reverse engineering except where the law permits, uploading unlawful content, or interfering with other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

7. Availability, changes, termination

The Service is provided as an evolving product; we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may discontinue the Service or features with reasonable notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have an active subscription, cancel it via Apple; deleting your account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including protections you may have as a consumer under the Québec Consumer Protection Act.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. Disputes are subject to the courts of Québec, without limiting any mandatory consumer right to proceed elsewhere. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between us about the Service. We may assign these Terms as part of a reorganization or sale of the business; you may not assign them.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
